Brief Summary

Story about Encouragement

Introduction

Several years ago, I had the privilege of accompanying a group of teens to Mt. Monadnock in New Hampshire. We spent the day doing activities that build trust and confidence. The highlight of the day was the high ropes course....

Key Factors

The encouragement of others, both those who had gone before and those waiting to go, was what kept me from giving up.

What Was Done

In order to get to the zipline, I had to climb 40 feet up a spider web and cross a Malaysian swinging bridge. It was very hard and very scary. I wanted to give up.

Results

Knowing what the goal was and the encouragement of others kept me going. As missionaries we face obstacles that are both difficult and scary, but our goal is better than riding a zipline. Knowing the goal and the encouragement of others can keep us going.
