Description

Ladi is the story of a young African girl who breaks her arm while playing with friends. She is taken to a hospital. It is there that she hears about Jesus for the first time. She makes a decision to become a follower of Jesus. When she returns to her village, she shares the good news of Jesus with her family and friends.

This story will encourage children to share the good news of Jesus with others. Ladi is meant to be shared in one story time. It has ten pictures.

White-White is a story about an African shepherd of sheep. He loved all his sheep, but especially one little white lamb. This lamb wanders off and gets lost. The shepherd goes out into a storm to look for it. He searches the mountain for the lost lamb. With lightning striking all around, the shepherd finds and rescues the lamb from a deep hole. The lightning strikes and kills the man. But his body protects the lamb. When the village men find his body they discover that the lamb is still alive and well.

This story explains the Bible story of the Good Shepherd. The Bible verse is John 10:11- ” I am the Good Shepherd: The Good Shepherd gives his life for the sheep.”

White-White is meant to be shared in one story time. It has ten pictures.

Considerations

  • The book with the two stories is 10” x 14” in size. The pictures have two colors, plus black, white and gray.
  • The pictures show African villages and clothing styles.

Limitations

  • Some of the pictures show only parts of people or the scene. This might confuse people who are not picture literate.

Guidelines for Use

  • These two stories would be useful in Sunday School, church, schools, camps, or children's Bible clubs.
  • The stories could be recorded on audio-cassette to go with the pictures.
  • The stories could be used as radio dramas with sound effects to take the place of the pictures.
  • The stories could be used as filmstrips with the story script.
