MiniDisc Recorder

Description

MiniDiscs are quite popular in some parts of the world and unpopular in others. It uses a proprietary compression format that requires special software to convert it into *.wav format.
For vernacular media purposes, many who have used MiniDisc recorders consider them to be too problematic; and have expressed a preference for digital recorders that use standard SD or Compact Flash technology and transfer (without special software) via USB Port. Because of this, the SPARK website is not currently reviewing any MiniDisc recorders.
However, we also realize that some people do use MiniDisc recorders, and if we receive any helpful hints for those who use them, we will include them on the SPARK website.
If you do choose to use a MiniDisc recorder, we encourage you to stay away from older models. Some of the newer recorders may have fewer problems and compatibility issues than the older ones. You can research the Internet for what is currently available. Many are desktop units, but some portable models do exist.
