Brief Summary

Agutaynen Radio Spots

Introduction

In order to promote reading fluency, we advertised that there would be a reading “contest” and that the winners would read Scripture portions for airing over the radio station in the provincial capital.

Key Factors

What Was Done

  • A VMS specialist helped us make the recordings.
  • These can be re-used many times.
  • We used older people and young adults.
  • The selections were about 60 seconds in length. The public radio station aired them for free.

Results

This helped people know that Bible translation was happening in Agutaynen, and was an effective way of showing people that Agutaynen was not as hard to read as they thought.
